Luqmaan Bokhary is a Community Advocate for the Workers’ Rights Program at Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Asian Law Caucus. Luqmaan’s passion for worker justice comes from his experiences with Middle Eastern and South Asian immigrant and refugee communities in accessing welfare and support services, coordinating mutual aid programs, and witnessing injustices and low-pay that gig workers and taxi drivers face. Prior to joining ALC, Luqmaan was a Fellow at the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, where he researched and wrote policies that seek to expand access to welfare programs and immigrant legal defense programs. He also has an extensive background in advocacy, organizing, and education from his various roles in student and community organizations. Luqmaan graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with an A.B. in Public Policy.
